Mobile Works Inc. Elects New Board Officers For 2004-2005 Fiscal Year

MOBILE, Alabama - September 28, 2004 - Mobile Works Inc. recently held its annual meeting and elected new board officers for the 2004-2005 fiscal year. The announcement was made by Sydney Raine, President of Mobile Works. Charles E. (Charlie) Story will take the lead as Chairman of the Board, with Ralph Buffkin elected to the Vice Chairman post. Steve Perry will act as Secretary and D. Mark Nix will serve as Treasurer.

Robert A. Greer, 2003-2004 Chairman of the Board, said, "We are extremely pleased to have Charles Story lead our Board this year. Charlie and our other new officers, Ralph Buffkin, Steve Perry and Mark Nix, all bring tremendous expertise in corporate strategy and business knowledge to the Board and their election reflects our continuing efforts to develop and maintain a skilled and diverse Board of Directors.� Continued Greer, "I feel confident that our new officers will continue to work tirelessly on behalf of Mobile Works�they have all been board members for some time and they know the vital importance of Mobile Works to the Mobile business community and to Mobile area jobseekers."

Sydney Raine stated, "We are making substantial progress towards achieving and exceeding our goals. I am excited by the opportunity to work with Charles, Ralph and the rest of our team as we build Mobile Works as a strong resource for the Mobile area business community."

Mobile Works Inc., a local partnership of business, education, labor and community leaders, provides businesses with training, leadership, labor market information and employment programs designed to stimulate local business by meeting the needs of Mobile area businesses while increasing the available labor pool of skilled jobseekers in the Mobile area. Since its inception in 2000, it has invested more than $19 million to support Mobile area job and educational programs. In addition, in the 2004-2005 fiscal year alone, Mobile Works will invest nearly $4.9 million dollars in jobs, training and economic initiatives for all of Mobile County.

Robert A. Greer
Robert Greer is Vice President of family-owned Autry Greer & Sons Inc.�which owns and operates over 40 Greer's Food Tiger stores, employing over 700 people in Alabama, Mississippi and Florida. Greer has worked there since 1976, successfully combining business and civic duties for over 28 years. In addition to his commitment to the Mobile Works board, for which he has served as Chairman, Greer is also President of the Rotary Club of Mobile and has been elected to be District Governor in 2006/2007. He is also an officer or member of several other boards of Mobile area organizations, as well as being a graduate of Leadership Mobile.

Charles E. Story
Charlie Story's career spans 30 years, including Degussa Corporation�from which he retired in November 2002 after serving 13 years as Vice President of Government & Public Affairs. Story is currently a consultant to several companies, including the Business Council of Alabama. In addition to his responsibility to the Mobile Works board, Story serves as Chairman of both Forward Mobile and Volunteers of America-Mobile. He is also on the boards of Springhill Hospital and Junior Achievement, as well as a charter member the City of Mobile Mayor's Advisory Committee and the Legislative Task Force of the Mobile Area Chamber of Commerce.

Ralph Buffkin
Since 1996, Ralph Buffkin has owned Buffkin Management Services, specializing in management consulting to small businesses. Before that, he spent 34 years at three other Mobile area companies. Besides his duties with Mobile Works, Buffkin is also on the United States Sports Academy board and recently ran for a seat on the Mobile County Commission. Buffkin was appointed by Alabama Governor Bob Riley to serve as the 1st District Commissioner for the Alabama Commission on Higher Education.

Steve Perry
Steve Perry has been an associate with Harris, DeVille & Associates, Inc. (HDA), a full-service communications firm specializing in issues management, for over ten years. Prior to joining HDA, Steve worked for a major international chemical company, as its plant manager for nearly 18 years. Besides his dedication to Mobile Works, Perry is also the Executive Director of The Forum�a trade association in the greater Mobile area that focuses on environmental issues, community interaction and outreach.

D. Mark Nix
Mark Nix is an Executive Vice President and the Chief Financial Officer of Infirmary Health System and Mobile Infirmary, where he has worked for over 17 years. In addition to his obligations to Mobile Works, Nix has served as Chairman of the Mobile Area Water and Sewer System for the past six years. He is also a member of the boards of the local Regions Bank, Leadership Mobile, Celebrities for Children as well as the Mobile Area Chamber of Commerce and the Chamber's Board of Advisors.
