Jule Franklin

Jule Franklin
Jule Franklin, enrolled in the DESI Career Training Center’s Youth to Work Services Program in July of 2008.

Although Franklin received an Alabama Occupational Diploma, his ultimate goal was to receive his Graduate Equivalency Diploma (GED) and eventually enroll into college. He knew this task would involve a lot of hard work given he’s had to work harder than the average student. However, Franklin was determined to become self-sufficient and ultimately land his dream job of becoming a pipe-fitter.

After enrolling into DESI, he received the motivation and accommodations needed for him to be successful. Franklin attained his G.E.D, became employed and received a Silver Career Readiness Certificate (CRC) from the State of Alabama. This certification verifies that he has the foundational skills required for today’s workplace. “With my G.E.D, Silver CRC and one day an associate’s degree, I will accomplish my dreams, Franklin writes.” He also received a certificate of training from OSHA and was a finalist for the International Open Poetry Contest.
