Local Workforce Investment Board receives Statewide Recognition Wednesday, Sep 26th, 2007 Mobile Works has been recognized by the Alabama Department of Economic and Community Affairs (ADECA) for superior performance as the local workforce investment agency. Mobile Works was awarded $274, 727 in incentive monies for performance based on the 2006-2007 fiscal year for exceeding program goals. Mobile Works received 43% of $644, 203 allotted for achieving and exceeding performance measures in adult, youth and dislocated worker programs. �Incentive funds provide much needed dollars to workforce investment areas that may be used for additional training programs and services,� states Sydney Raine, Mobile Works President.
Furthermore, Mobile Works and the Alabama Career Center Partners were awarded top honors for the Governor�s Workforce Development Quality Awards: Best Practices-Urban Career Center/Programs. Mobile Works and the Alabama Career Center received the award at the 2007 Workforce Alabama Workforce Development Conference in Birmingham on September 13. This award was given to the Alabama Career Center who consistently paralleled the mission of the �One-Stop� to serve as a point of contact for businesses and industry in Mobile County while providing a full range of services and programs to assist jobseekers. �We are honored to receive this award; it is truly a team effort. This award demonstrates the dedication of the Career Center Partners and their staff to Mobile County. Partners were excited to learn we were tops out of 33 Career Centers located throughout the state,� states Rip Mallini, Employment Services Manger. �Our goal, as it is every year, is to provide outstanding service to business owners and jobseekers in the community.�
