Mobile Works Receives State Wide Recognition
Mobile Works and the Alabama Career Center Partners were awarded top honors for the Governor's Workforce Development Quality Awards: Best Practices-Urban Career Center/Programs. Mobile Works and the Alabama Career Center received the
award at the 2007 Workforce Alabama Workforce Development Conference in Birmingham on September 13. This award was given to the Alabama Career Center who consistently paralleled the mission of the "One-Stop" to serve as a point of contact for businesses and industry in Mobile County while providing a full range of services and programs to assist jobseekers. Established under the Workforce Investment Act, the Alabama Career Center offers easy access to resources for job seekers and local businesses while focusing on the mission of competitive advantage for employers through quality people and for quality people through quality jobs.

Placement will depend on back ground and skill. Will work with castings and fabrication small to 20' (refer to job order # 363295).
Staff Medical Assistant with vocational certificate or credential. No experience required. Will provide assistance to the Medical Staff as necessary for examination and treatment of clients and assessment of employees (refer to job order #357208).
Director of Plant Engineering. Bachelors Degree required with 5 years of experience. Skills preferred in management, engineering, healthcare administration. 5 years experience in management of plant operations/engineering (refer to job order # 359967).
Community Marketing Representative. Part-time. High School Diploma. No experience required. E-mail a resume to the employer or call for an appointment. This is a temporary job to last through December, 2007. It could possibly be extended to last through May, 2008. Duties are to visit local public schools and other community organizations doing "grassroots marketing" to promote Education Station tutoring programs funded through "No Child Left Behind (refer to job order #363197).
Field Exploration Driller. High School Diploma or equivalent required. No experience necessary. Requires WIA certification for OJT program. This is an on-the-job training position. Duties include working as a field exploration driller. Will work outdoors in all types of weather conditions to include normal Mobile and surrounding area weather (rainy, hot or cold). Will work at paper mills, chemical plants, shipyards, fabrication shops, schools, development areas, wooded land parcels, beaches, marsh environments, etc (refer to job order # 361406).
