Dearborn YMCA Accepting Applicants July 1 for Pathway to Employment Program


Dearborn YMCA located at 321 N. Warren Street is accepting applications for enrollment into the Pathway to Employment Program funded by Mobile Works, Inc. Out -of- school youth ages 16-21 interested in receiving a GED and vocational training assistance should contact  Sharon Smith, Case Manager at 251/432-4768 or call 221-5231.



Eligible candidates are provided the following:

Operation Career Ready Prichard

The City of Prichard is teaming up with the Alabama Career Center, Bishop State Community College and Mobile Works to offer job readiness classes to the citizens of Prichard and surrounding municipalities. 

These classes will be presented  in a series of workshops tonight from 5:00  p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and on Wednesday, August 8 from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the Alabama Career Center.  Participants will learn the following and much more:





  • resume preparation
  • interviewing techniques
  • dressing for success
  • effective communication skills
  • keyboarding and much more
